Don Nagle – Director Emeritus

Northern Light Ministry directly owes its very life to the ministry of Don and Ilene Nagle. With Ilene already in Glory and Don needing to step down from daily leadership, there is a chasm of leadership loss to the ministry they began.

The NLM vision for ministry in Mexico was birthed around Don and Ilene’s kitchen table and guided by their tireless energy. Asthma complications forced them to flee their beloved Oregon with its humidity and air-born pollen. After taking students to both Alaska and Mexico for short-term ministries, they founded NLM to experience missions year-round. Mexico’s responsiveness to the Gospel made their relocation more than bearable into a real-life joy.

The chief accomplishments of NLM are not institutions but are written on hearts and lives transformed by the blessed Gospel of Christ. However, tangible changes include 13 new churches, the Baja Biblical Seminary and a staff of Mexican and American missionaries carrying on the vision.

Although this month Don moves to Director Emeritus status, his goal for you as mission partners, is that you continue what was begun. There are still many unreached groups to be reached and believers to be discipled.

Pray for Dwight and Sarah as they assume interim leadership to move toward the future. Please continue your partnership with NLM so that what has begun may be completed until the day of Christ’s return.
